The new 45-metre explorer yacht Tremenda, built by Cantiere delle Marche (CdM), represents a unique project rooted in robust engineering and uncompromising design. This fully custom vessel, formerly known as Project T, reflects the vision of an experienced owner who collaborated closely with CdM and Italian designer Giorgio M. Cassetta to bring this yacht to life. The result is a well-honed balance of functionality, endurance, and striking aesthetics, crafted with the performance requirements of serious exploration in mind.
The first impression of Tremenda is one of purpose-driven design. She’s defined by a near-vertical bow and a clean, sweeping sheer line that extends to the transom, ending in an inviting beach area that’s both practical and stylish. Cassetta’s lines are minimalist yet deliberate, carrying a geometric precision that avoids excess while enhancing the yacht’s long-range explorer appeal. “The owners came in with a clear and focused vision,” Cassetta noted, highlighting their commitment to well-considered proportions and fluid layout.
At her core, Tremenda is built for substantial range and seaworthiness, with naval architecture by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec, a respected name in exploration-focused yacht design. With her full-displacement hull, she’s capable of cruising well beyond the limits of many yachts in her class. Twin MAN V12-1400 engines deliver a top speed of 14.5 knots and a substantial cruising range above 4,000 nautical miles. This setup gives her not only the long-distance credentials expected of an explorer yacht, but also the fuel efficiency and stability necessary for extended offshore ventures.
Inside, Tremenda makes the most of her space. Thoughtful design details include floor-to-ceiling windows that let natural light permeate the interiors, offering guests panoramic views and a strong connection to the surrounding seascape. Her layout ensures smooth, unobstructed movement, optimising both guest experience and crew operations—a valuable asset in remote settings where both comfort and functionality come to the forefront.
Accommodation is extensive and purposefully separated for privacy and ease of service. The main deck’s forward section is reserved for the owner’s suite, a full-beam arrangement that includes his-and-hers bathrooms, a dressing area, and a private lounge, creating an enclosed, private space away from the main guest areas. On the lower deck, four well-sized guest suites accommodate up to eight guests, maintaining a balanced blend of seclusion and communal comfort.
Cantiere delle Marche co-founder and CEO Vasco Buonpensiere emphasised the collaborative nature of the build, pointing to CdM’s synergy with Giorgio Cassetta and with other key players in the project, including Arrow Yacht, FGI Yacht Group, and industry veteran Ian Kerr. This collaborative approach reflects CdM’s philosophy: combining skilled craftsmanship with a genuine openness to new design challenges. For the owner, Tremenda’s creation was a rare opportunity to work closely with a shipyard fully committed to the rigorous demands of an explorer build, a journey he described as one of dedication and precision.
Tremenda captures CdM’s explorer ethos through its attention to functionality and its sophisticated yet purposeful design, merging the endurance of a true ocean vessel with carefully honed aesthetics. For those interested in exploring what custom explorer yachts have to offer, Tremenda is a distinct testament to what can be achieved when engineering, design, and a focused owner’s vision come together.
